This 1.25" x 1.5" triangular medium medallion with the vision of three Mustangs is handcrafted of lead free pewter and on an approximately 36" satin cord.
Mustang comes from the Spanish word "mesteno" meaning stray or free-running animal. They are Spanish horses which have mixed with other horses brought west by the pioneers. There were millions of Mustangs in the 1800's but only about 50,000 today. In 1971 Congress banned killing or capturing them, but there are loopholes in the laws and the Mustangs' safety is very precarious. Wild horses have a uniquely compelling strength and grace.
